IPL 2025

IPL 2025: The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal is ready to host seven matches of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The games will take place between March 23 and May 21. With a seating capacity of approximately 39,000, the stadium promises an electric atmosphere for fans.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), last year’s runners-up, will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign at home. They face Rajasthan Royals on Sunday afternoon.

IPL 2025: Security Arrangements for Smooth Matches

The Hyderabad Police has ensured elaborate security measures for these matches. Around 2,700 police personnel have been deployed. This includes teams from various wings like law and order, traffic, and special units.

The deployment features six platoons of armed forces, OCTOPUS, Special Branch teams, SHE Teams, CCS teams, and Special Operations Teams. Additional support comes from tear gas parties, Mounted Police, and the Vajra water cannon vehicle.

Rachakonda Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu briefed the media on these preparations. He highlighted the use of specialized teams for women’s safety and smooth traffic flow. Officials have also coordinated with the metro for late-night services, making it easier for fans to return home after the matches.

IPL 2025: SRH’s Road to Redemption

Led by Australian star Pat Cummins, SRH is looking to improve on their performance from last season. The team made it to the final for the first time since 2018 but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.

The franchise has shown faith in Cummins, retaining him as captain. SRH also retained four key players, including Cummins, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Nitish Kumar Reddy.
