A New Interpretation of Ohana and Friendship
Disney is revisiting a fan favorite with a live-action version of Lilo & Stitch. The initial trailer of the widely awaited remake presents a new interpretation of Stitch, the cheeky blue alien who goes on an unforgettable journey on planet Earth.
A Wish Come True – With a Twist
The movie introduces Lilo (Maia Kealoha), a young girl from Hawaii, who yearns for friendship. Staring up at a falling star, she makes a passionate wish: “I wish for a friend, like a best friend.” The wish seems answered in a surprise manner when Lilo meets Stitch, an illegal alien experiment gone awry who flees Earth after pilfering a spacecraft.
Stitch’s Chaotic Arrival
Lilo’s taking in what she thinks is a stray dog soon becomes a whirlwind of activity as she tries to teach Stitch the value of family. In spite of his destructive tendencies, Lilo’s love and influence start to transform Stitch, but strong forces soon try to tear them apart. The alien’s presence draws attention from those who are afraid he is still a threat to the universe.
